Great event with Sen. John Thune (R-SD)!
July 11th, 2017
Last night, WindPAC hosted Senator John Thune, a Republican from South Dakota, at a dinner at Charlie Palmer Steak in Washington, D.C.
For the 115th Congress, Senator Thune serves on the Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee; as Chairman on the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee; and the Finance Committee. Thune also served in Republican leadership as Chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee from 2009 – 2011 and now serves as the Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, the number three position in Senate Republican leadership.
Around the table was a great showing of the wind industry - Steve Lockard of TPI Composites, John Purcell of Leeco Steel, Christopher Chapel and Whitney Drew of NextEra Energy, Kirby Zicafoose of Tenaska, Jack Thirolf of Enel, Elissa Levin of Avangrid as well as many others. We had a great conversation about a wide variety of topics and the Senator proved very open to discussing issues important to wind and helping to support our industry going forward. Thank you, Senator Thune!
